Porch Swing Orchestra no.190 | Collaboration with Gavin Watts

"Gavin is a multi-talented artist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer/recording engineer.

We played together for about an hour in his studio trying out all manner of guitar combos and recording options including one straight to cassette.

This installment features Gavin on electric guitar and me playing one of his Nashville-tuned guitars. It sounds like a wild rocket ride to outer space.

The image features a mash-up of a picture I took of a couple of Gavin's paintings with an image Gavin took of the studio.

Watts does many many things. He has a garage-psych band with PSO collaborator and partner, Lauren Grant, called The Answers, experimental and field recordings, and soundtracks with the Reformers."

All aboard the train transcending the Slough of Despond on its way to the Palace Beautiful! I am not sure who plays the part of Mr. Smooth-It-Away, but this track from our session a while back is a whirling, chugging journey to the promised land.
